Aubrey Huff smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Josh Beckett dominated striking out 11 Dyersville batters as the SSB SSB Tar Heels beat the Dyersville Jurassics by a score of 11 to 3. Huff provided much of the offense. He lined a one-base hit which scored a run in the 2nd inning, lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 3rd inning and cracked a two-run shot (his 7th of the season) in the 7th inning. SSB had 14 hits for the afternoon while Dyersville had 9. Beckett(1-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 2/3 innings and allowing 3 runs. Dennys Reyes(1-9) ended up with the loss. He gave up 7 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings of work. Beckett was asked about his big strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little odd when you rack up these numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a running tally in the stands, everything gets real still and quiet. Just strange - but it's nice to be able to take the crowd out of the game.'
